East meets West in a modern and stylish new dim sum restaurant located in a prominent downtown Asheville location.

Cocktail Bar

An Art Deco icon, now an event venue, the building underwent a loving restoration and glamorous update in 2015.

An old downtown building gets a new life as an eclectic and chic boutique and coffee shop. Exposing the old wallcovering from the past lead to a unique mix of old and new finishes. Original finishes are mixed with distressed items and inspiring script murals to create a tapestry of finishes and unique displays for the merchandise.

Papoose is a children's boutique that caters to parents and kids and holds a high standard for its vendors. The environment is modern and clean, yet friendly and fun with a play area for kids and plenty of room for moms to take a rest from walking around downtown. A beautiful backdrop for environmentally responsible and locally made products.

A landmark hotel gets a new lease on life.

Emily Richter was part of a team of architects and designers that completely revamped the Washington Hilton in 2009. The project was her foray into hospitality design and continues to serve as a proud moment in her design career. The project included remodeling of all the guest rooms and suites, all amenities spaces, the lobby and elevators, and the addition of a large exhibition and conference center.

High-end green living in the DC Metro area

Parc Rosslyn is an innovative green building (LEED Silver), that houses some of the DC Metro areas best, brightest, and trendiest residents. A green respite in the concrete jungle with modern, comfortable interiors, and sleek city design.

Modern function meets classic design in this high-rise.

Clean and spare with touches of classical moldings and proportions lend warmth and comfort to a modern high-rise building. Gorgeous and highly functional amenities spaces are part of the overall design.

A 1964 ranch style home gets opened up and modernized.

What was once full of tired, dated finishes, a tiny, dark kitchen, and a lack of sunlight has been transformed by an extensive remodel that involved a new space plan on the main level, vaulting the ceiling, new bathrooms, letting in natural light, and refurbishing the original white oak floors, and even reusing old ceiling joists. By implementing knowledge of materials and some unlikely sources, we were able to achieve a lot of look and function on a moderate budget. It was wonderful transformation from a worn out house to a young family's home base.
